Canvas Final

This specific project is based on Gary the Snail from the show Spongebob Squarepants. I wanted to create something that was somewhat challenging but that I also knew would be in my skill range. Which with code, my skillset is limited. The nostalgia from searching up Gary and other characters from the show was great as it reminded me of simpler times. I think the reason I created this in general was to see if I could make my code depiction even somewhat resemble the animated version.  My sources and inspiration for the coding process are from the show. I wanted to add in the classic flowers but alas I did not have enough time to mess around with the code, the same goes for the shell decorations too. I am aware that Gary's personality does not shine through in my interpretation, but most adaptations may not fully capture the original feel. This was incredibly hard to code as there were many set backs and errors. I am happy to have been able to get a semi-decent project as the outcome

Internet/World Wide Web

Well, according to the online Merriam-Webster dictionary, the internet is “ an electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world” (Merriam-Webster). Basically, what that definition means is that the internet is a globally used networking that connects computers, and other electronic devices, to provide communication and other services to the people. The formation of the internet itself can not really be accredited to one person alone and that is because the history of the internet is complex and has been thought up by multiple people before and there are other scientists/engineers who all had a hand in the beginning of the internet. Although, there are two scientists who are credited with its invention and for the use that we as a society utilize today. The first workable prototype was in the late 1960s “with the creation of ARPANET, or the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network” (History). It was funded

Intro Blog Post - Anna Johnson

I'm Anna Johnson and I am a freshman at the University of Tampa. I am majoring in Marine Science Biology and I am from Rockville, Maryland. In my free time I enjoy biking, walking my dog, and drawing/sketching. I do not have a lot of experience with computer art/design and my knowledge, of computers in general, is mostly surface level but I am honestly looking forward to this class. Especially after hearing about it more in person yesterday.  I am hopeful that I will be able to learn new skills and techniques from this class that will help broaden my basic technological skills. Honestly, this class looks like it can be fun but I know that I will have to put in the work to do well here. I am excited to learn along with my classmates through the rest of the course.
